Copenhagen wins a special prize for urban life quality

Our home city Copenhagen has won a Special Recognition Prize for sustainable urban development strategy. The jury of the European Prize for Urban Public Space, held in Barcelona, decided to create a special prize in order to recognize Copenhagen’s commitment to ensure a good quality of urban life.

The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a competition organized by European institutions with the aim to encourage the recovery projects and defense of public space in cities. Several finalists from Copenhagen showed great determination to create comfortable urban surroundings for citizens, showing city’s commitment to the quality of urban life. As a result, the jury decided to introduce a special category to acknowledge Copenhagen city as a role model in sustainable urban development and innovation, related to such issues as water management and sustainable mobility.
